2007 On June 28, 2007, Craig Biggio of the Astros collects his 3,000th career hit in a game against the Rockies in Houston. The milestone hit came in the seventh inning against Colorado starter Aaron Cook during an 8-5 Houston win. Biggio was thrown out trying to stretch the hit to a double. Biggio became the first player to collect five hits in the game he reached the 3,000 mark. |
2007 On June 28, 2007, Frank Thomas became the 21st player to reach the 500-homer mark. The big Blue Jays" slugger belted a three-run homer in the first inning off Carlos Silva of the Twins. Thomas was later ejected from the game in the ninth inning for arguing a called third strike. |
