1993
On November 22, 1993, the Texas Rangers sign free agent Will "The Thrill" Clark to a multi-year contract. The slick-fielding, hard-hitting Clark leaves the San Francisco Giants after eight seasons in the Bay Area. Clark, who batted .283 with 73 RBIs for the Giants, will raise his average to .329 with the Rangers in 1994.

1972
On November 22, 1972, future Hall of Famer Johnny Bench of the Cincinnati Reds wins his second MVP in the last three years. Bench beats out Chicago Cubs star Billy Williams, who also ran second to Bench in the 1970 MVP balloting…

1961
On November 22, 1961, Frank Robinson of the Cincinnati Reds is a near-unanimous selection as MVP. Robinson, who receives 219 out of a possible 224 points, becomes the first Red to win the MVP in 21 years.

1957
On November 22, 1957, Mickey Mantle barely edges Ted Williams in the American League's MVP voting. Mantle gains 233 votes to Williams' 209 tallies. Mantle batted .365 with 34 home runs for the first-place New York Yankees, while Williams batted .388 with 38 home runs for the third-place Boston Red Sox.

1954
On November 22, 1954, the Pittsburgh Pirates draft outfielder Roberto Clemente from the Triple-A roster of the Brooklyn Dodgers, where he was being hidden from the eyes of major league scouts. Although Clemente had hit only .257 for the Montreal Royals, he will become a Hall of Fame player with the Pirates.

1934
On November 22, 1934, the Chicago Cubs acquire future Hall of Fame infielder Fred Lindstrom and pitcher Larry French from the Pittsburgh Pirates for three players, including outfielder Babe Herman. Lindstrom, a .290 hitter for the Cubs, will slump to .275 in 1935…
