On November 13, 2006, the New York Mets break ground on their new ballpark, to be named Citi Field. Some of the park"s architecture harkens back to Ebbets Field, which resided in Brooklyn and was home to the Brooklyn Dodgers through 1957.

1996
On November 13, 1996, Ken Caminiti of the San Diego Padres is named the National League's Most Valuable Player. Caminiti becomes the first Padre to win the award since the franchise's inception in 1969. Caminiti is only the fourth NL player to win the award unanimously, joining Orlando Cepeda, Mike Schmidt, and Jeff Bagwell.

On November 13, 1995, Greg Maddux of the Atlanta Braves wins an unprecedented fourth consecutive Cy Young Award. Maddux, who becomes the second pitcher to win the award four times, finished the season with a record of 19-2 and an ERA of 1.63…

On November 13, 1979, future Hall of Famer Willie Stargell shares the National League's Most Valuable Player Award with Keith Hernandez. The occasion marks the first time in major league history that two players finish in a tie in MVP balloting. Hernandez paced the league with a .344 batting mark, while Stargell led the Pittsburgh Pirates to the playoffs, and eventually the World Championship.

On November 13, 1978, Boston Red Sox ace Luis Tiant signs a free agent contract with the rival New York Yankees. Tiant, who finished 13-8 for the Red Sox, will post an identical record for the Yankees in 1979...
