2006 On November 12, 2006, former Houston outfielder Rusty Staub is inducted into the Texas Baseball Hall of Fame. Staub played six seasons for Houston, from 1963-1968.

1993 On November 12, 1993, Hall of Fame catcher Bill Dickey dies at the age of 86. The former New York Yankees' great, who was elected to the Hall in 1954, batted .313 with 202 home runs over a 17-year career in the major leagues.

1986 On November 12, 1986, Roger Clemens of the Boston Red Sox becomes only the second pitcher in history to unanimously win the Cy Young Award. In 1968, Denny McLain of the Detroit Tigers swept the voting by the Baseball Writers Association of America.

1975 On November 12, 1975, future Hall of Famer Tom Seaver wins his third Cy Young Award. The New York Mets' hard-throwing right-hander led the National League with 22 wins.
