On September 19, 2007, New York"s Andy Pettitte won his 200th game, defeating the Orioles, 2-1 at Yankee Stadium. Pettitte became the 27th left-hander to reach the 200-win plateau.

2002
On September 19, 2002, Kansas City Royals coach Tom Gamboa is attacked by two fans while he stand sin the first base coaches box at Comiskey Park in Chicago. The drunken fans, a father-son duo, charged onto the field from the lower deck stands behind first base and tackled the unsuspecting Gamboa, who was knocked to the ground. "I felt like a football team had hit me from behind. Next thing I knew, I"m on the ground trying to defend myself," Gamboa said. "It just happened so fast."

On September 19, 1926, future Hall of Famer Duke Snider was born in Los Angeles. Snider patrolled center field for the Dodgers from 1947-1962, and hit the last home run at Ebbets Field in Brooklyn.
